Make Music at Grace

Regular choir and handbell rehearsals are back on Wednesday nights! Our Christmas Choir, which will sing for Lessons and Carols on December 14th, is also beginning soon. United Women in Faith Luncheons

Please join us for our fall Tuesday luncheons. Lunch is served at 12:30pm ($5 suggested donation) followed by devotions and the program. On Tuesday, September 16th, Dr. Nate McNulty will present a program on gut health. Devotions that day will be by Charlotte Ellis. No reservations required. Friends are welcome!

Bible Blast Part III

As our children continue to learn more about how to use their Bibles, we invite all 3rd-5th grade students to Bible Blast Part 3!! Join us for pizza at 11:30am on Sunday, September 21st and stay for games and learning as we take another step in learning more about our Bibles.

Pumpkins, Pizza, & Pizzazz

On Sunday, October 19th  from 11:30am-1pm, Grace will host a family pumpkin decorating event in Fellowship Center! Pumpkins, Pizza and Pizzazz is a chance for families to come together to share pizza lunch and then decorate pumpkins with crazy (or lovely) faces. No carving, no painting. We provide all the fun stuff. Plan on about an hour of great fun and visiting time.

Fall 2025 Small Group Leaders

This fall, Grace UMC will have three different Small Group opportunities that align with our Sermon Series. We are looking for folks who feel called to help lead these groups. The curriculum is already written, and leading looks much more like facilitating than teaching. If you are interested in leading one or more of these four-week groups, please visit graceumc-stl.org/fall-leaders or call the church office at 314-863-1992. 

Short Courses

Short courses are offered on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:15  in Fellowship Hall, and everyone is welcome! The idea is that you can come whenever you are available with no preparation needed. The first short course this fall will be led by Pastor Phil Blackwell during the month of September. His topic is The Wesleyan Quadrilateral, or What We Need to Know as United Methodists.



Sept. 14th - Tradition: What was it in his Anglican tradition that kept him tied to the Church even though he was never appointed to a parish?

Sept. 21st - Reason: How did he include science and philosophy as part of his faith?

Sept. 28th - Experience: What did he experience in over 50 years of ministry that changed how he understood scripture, tradition, and reason?

Join Grace UMC friends for a Small Group based on the sermon series for the month of September called “I’ve been meaning to ask…” All courageous conversations begin with simple questions and the curiosity to truly listen. This series offers us an opportunity to behold each other as images of the divine, to strengthen our capacity for empathy and compassion, and to remember the power of asking unassuming questions. There are three Small Group options offered weekly. Pick the time and location that works best for you. Curriculum will be provided. There is no homework or pre-reading required. 

Midwest Mission Community-Wide Food Packing Event

Date/Time: Saturday, September 20, 2025 @ 9:00 AM; Location: Grace UMC, Skinker & Waterman – Lower Level

On Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 9am, Grace UMC (Skinker & Waterman) will host a community-wide food packing event to pack 2,400 meal kits (14,400 meals) for Midwest Mission to distribute to international destinations. In previous years, meal kits have been distributed through “Food for the Poor,” which distributes food in 17 different Latin and Caribbean countries. 

Children who are in first grade or older may participate in the food packing (although those younger than 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). When signing up, please provide the ages of all participants under 13, and the names of any family members or other individuals you would like to work with, so that we can place related participants on the same team (although there may be others on that team also - since each team consists of 10 participants). Childcare for children not yet in first grade will also be provided (if needed), so parents who would like to participate and bring children who are not yet in first grade are asked to also note their names and ages when they sign up so that we can plan to have childcare if it is needed. 

Please complete the form at www.graceumc-stl.org/food-packing by Tuesday, September 16th to add your name to the list of participants.

Note: If your plans change after you register, please let us know. We assign participants to teams, and determine the equipment needed based on the number of participants. The event runs less smoothly when we have “no-shows” at the last minute. This event is also subject to capacity limits, so we may close registration when we reach capacity.

Volunteer at Tower Grove Pride

Your Grace UMC Social Justice Team invites you to sign up to serve at the Tower Grove Pride Celebration on September 26-28. The booth is being organized by the Missouri Reconciling Methodist Team. SHED Work Day October 11th

Join Grace and Sustainable Housing and Equitable Development (SHED) for a work day on Saturday, October 11th from 9am to 12pm. Tasks generally involve yard work or other outdoor work needed to help U-City homeowners who are elderly, disabled, or otherwise in need of assistance with home maintenance. Grace UMC's Social Justice Team has been sending out Lift Every Voice emails to make it easier to make your voice heard on important legislative issues. Each email includes a quick, concise explanation of one concerning issue, a link for more detailed information, a list of names and associated emails/phone numbers of appropriate elected officials, and a pre-written script to use or ignore at your discretion. Take a Hike at Lone Elk Park

All undergrads, graduate students, and young pros are welcome to join LuMin St. Louis for a walk in nature on October 18, 2025. We will head to Lone Elk Park, about 35 minutes away, to walk the trails and wonder at nature. Bonus points will be to see the bison. Bridges Retreat

The Bridges Retreat is an 8-month experience of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, helping participants draw closer to God and Jesus, create a more disciplined prayer life, find spiritual guidance for making big decisions, and form a clearer picture of their purpose.
