Small groups are communities of people who gather regularly for prayer, study and friendship. They are key to growing spiritually and connecting into the life of the church. Meeting regularly in community is a way we live out our commitments to serve God in community, pray for one another, support one another, and critically think about questions of faith. Some small groups meet for short intervals (4-5 weeks) and some meet more regularly. Small groups are an excellent way to meet people and get more involved in church life. All groups are open, and newcomers are always welcome.
There is a variety of opportunities for adults of all ages to grow in their faith in a Sunday School setting. Each week "The Story" class meets in the Fellowship Hall. Throughout the year, a variety of short classes is offered on Sunday mornings or on weeknights with specific and varied curriculum. Check the current calendar to see what is available in the coming weeks. Calendar
All men of the community are invited to a devotional and breakfast every Tuesday in Fellowship Hall at 7:00 a.m. Grab breakfast and enjoy fellowship over Scripture before heading to work or starting your day. The men are very active in working around the church building to keep things working smoothly. They are actively involved in church sponsored S.H.E.D. (Safe Housing for the Elderly and Disabled) projects. They also have an annual retreat as well as a special Lenten breakfast gathering on the Saturday before Palm Sunday.
This group supports many local and national missions.
Check the church calendar for upcoming day and evening gatherings. Calendar
The "Holy Knit Wits," the Grace knitting group, meet every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. (following the UMW meetings or the Food Pantry on weeks UMW does not meet) in the Wesley Conference Room for knitting and fellowship. All knitters are welcome, experienced or soon to be experienced; or you can just come for the fellowship!
For over thirty years Filmgoers has chosen a current film each month between September and May. Participants view the film on their own or in small groups, and then gather on a designated Friday evening for discussion and refreshments. For current film and discussion location, see the church calendar. Calendar
Related to The Alcoholics Anonymous Twelve-Step Recovery Support Programs, Al‑anon is a support group for friends and families of alcohol and drug-addicted persons. An Al‑anon group meets Thursdays at noon in the Wesley Conference Room at Grace Church.
The young adult ministry at Grace is specifically designed for young professionals, graduate students, pre-professionals, and anyone looking to connect with other people of faith in their 20's and 30's.
The young adult group meets periodically for social gatherings at local restaurants, private homes, and local attractions. Mission, service, and leadership opportunities are also available through the young adult ministry.
