ministries > small group

Small groups are small communities of people who gather regularly for prayer, study and friendship. Meeting regularly in community is a way we live out our commitments to serve God in community, pray for one another, support one another, and critically think about questions of faith. Some small groups meet for short intervals (4-5 weeks) and some meet more regularly (see below on special interest small groups). If you are new, please consider a small group. None of our groups are closed and new people regularly join.

All Church Bible Study Begins February 22nd

What if...

...our picture of the Last Supper was wrong?

...you had stood at the foot of the cross with Mary?

...Judas had lived to be forgiven by Jesus?

What if Jesus' final day came to life before your eyes?

Join us each Wednesday during Lent for a study of Adam Hamilton's 24 Hours That Changed the World. Each week you'll have the opportunity to explore the final day of Jesus' life while growing deeper in faith and forming strong connections to other believers.

6pm: Potluck Dinner in Fellowship Hall

6:30pm: Large group study begins with a video and introduction by Revered Mark

6:45pm-7:30pm: Small group break-out discussions

For more information or to reserve a copy of the study guide and devotional, email the church office.

United Methodist Men
All men of the community are invited to a devotional and breakfast every Tuesday in the College Room at 7:00 a.m. Grab breakfast and enjoy fellowship over Scripture before heading to work or starting your day. Please click here for more information. There is also a men's dialogie group that convenes in the Parlor after breakfast.

United Methodist Women
All women of the community are invited to United Methodist Women. The group meets the first three Tuesdays of each month for devotions (11:30), lunch (noon) and a program (1 p.m.). On the fourth Tuesday, the group splits into small circles. Please click here to inquire about attending. The "Holy Knit Wits" meet every Tuesday @ 12:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for kitting and fellowship.

Sunday Morning Lectionary Group

Looking for a challenge? Want to explore how the week’s lectionary readings relate to your daily life? Consider the questions you don’t feel you can talk about elsewhere? The Lectionary Group invites you to to read and discuss the weekly lectionary. Click here to inquire or just join us on Sunday morning.

Grace's weeknight women's group, Ladies of Grace, meets monthly to engage in book discussions, mission work, and fellowship. Email Pat Williams for more information.

Wednesday nights from September thru May we meet at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall to have a potluck dinner.  If you are coming from work or just don't want to put together a dish no worries!  We have the makings for sandwiches, chips, and what not available.  At 6:30 Rev. Mark leads us through a brief Bible study.  We are out by 7:30.  This is a great place to widen your circle of acquaintences and friends at Grace!

The Young Adult small group meets each Wednesday at 7pm at Kayak's Coffee (corner of Skinker and Forest Park Parkway.) The group is composed of young professionals, graduate students, couples, and single adults from all backgrounds. Each week's discussion is anchored in a weekly reading but no prior preparation is required to join-in.  Discussions cover a broad range of topics but past books have included Lewis's Mere Christianity, Wright's Simply Christian, Paul's letter to the Colossians, and Jones's Feminist Theory and Christian Theology. Email Laura Patterson for more information.

On Sunday nights at 8pm a college-aged Disciple group meets at Cafe Bergson in the Danforth University Center on Wash U's campus. This small group is focused on reading through the entire Bible during the 2011-2012 school year! Email Laura Patterson for more information.
